A few years ago, only about 25% of the dealers at large shows had laptops.  Now, over 50% have them.  Soon they will be as common as pocket calculators.  Clearly, the EPC is an idea whose time has arrived.  In the world paper money field, it will be especially welcomed, in order to avoid the struggle of juggling multiple heavy printed catalogs.  Now, an opportunity has arrived for you to take part in this colossal project, not just for personal gratification and self-promotion, but also for cash income.

This project will be accomplished, first, by using the "JC Principle".  No, not the one who allegedly got nailed, but the JC who conquered the then know world.  Second, unlike the boys in Sidney and Iola, we shall compensate our RAs with actual cash.  Third, we shall set up priorities.

Our TOP PRIORITY is the Price Guide for Primary/General Issues.  This is the most important aspect of EPC.  Dealers with laptops at shows will need this feature the most.  They can always carry the printed catalogs along for identification purposes.  Besides, identification is no longer the problem it was 30 years ago, especially with notes that can be unequivocally pinned down by simple features such as dates, serial number fonts, etc.  This is where your potential for Lifetime Income comes in:  Prices (valuations) need to be updated aperiodically, forever.

Our next priority is the Details for Primary/General Issues.  While this page may contain many things, our initial thrust will be Tables of Signer(s) and/or Signature(s) Combinations.  Yes, this will usually involve graphics.  On the other hand, there are not many countries which require such tables for identification purposes.

Graphics, ie, illustrations of notes is our lowest priority.  For one thing, in the initial stages of EPC, users can always have the printed catalogs around for those few instances when an illustrations is the only way to identify an item.  Also, many collectors/dealers already have most of their favorite country's notes scanned and probably also published on the Internet.  We hope to collaborate with such website owners.

A different set of priorities involves Countries/Issuers.

Our LOWEST PRIORITY is for countries for which highly specialized individual country reference catalogs already exists.  A partial list includes:  USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina.  Specialists in such countries need us much less than worldwide generalists.  We shall not omit them, of course, it is just that they are not as important to us at this time.  Our long-term goal is completeness in every direction.  In any case, large (issue wise) countries can be split up among several Research Associates.
