| JASON ISLANDS Set of 5 multicolored notes, increasing in size with denoms, each with a portrait of the late L H "Len" Hill, each with a different brand of penguin. I believe Jason Islands "belong" to Falkland Islands. Anyway, they're primarily populated by penguins. Len Hill used the revenues from the sale of these promotional notes to support The Birdland Zoo Gardens in Great Britain. I purchased 100 of these sets from Mr Hill in the Late Seventies. Later (c1981), in reply to my inquiry, he said he had only 1000 sets left, and would save them for me. I wrote back, asking for the total I should send him (cost plus shipping & insurance)...A few month later his son wrote that his father had passed away, that he knew nothing about the deal, and that he had none of the sets in his possession. ..... Hurry! Only a few of these beautiful sets left in stock! |
